Indian corn is a well know favorite for fall decorating. The muted combinations of blues, browns, yellows and reds, represent all the beautiful colors we associate with this time of year. Creating a centerpiece is one way to shows off their unique beauty and celebrate their history.
To get started, I have listed the items used in creating this centerpiece.
Supplies
- Wide hurricane type vase
- Indian corn
- Mixed unshelled nuts
- Pinecones
- Acorns, tree bark and twigs
If the unshelled nuts and pinecones look familiar, that’s because I had lots of leftovers from the DIY Fall Wreath, that I posted a few weeks ago. Lucky for me they look stunning with the Indian corn.
To create the centerpiece, I used six of the Indian corn in various colors. As I arranged the corn in the vase they kept leaning over, so that’s the way they ended up. I added pinecones to the center of the arrangement and filled in the empty spaces with nuts, acorns and tree bark.
After I finished the centerpiece, I realized how much I love the sculptural feel of the corn husks. So much personality!
Remember there’s no right or wrong way of creating this arrangement. You can play around with it as your heart desires and just have fun with it. Whatever you create will be fabulous. I’m just here to give you a starting point.
The Indian corn centerpiece is currently displayed in the kitchen, however it would make a beautiful addition to a Thanksgiving table, buffet or entry table, so keep that in mind.
I hope you like the Indian Corn Centerpiece and will create one of your own. If you do, I want to hear all about it!
Cheers!

Very pretty, love the texture the nuts give at the bottom.
Thank you Christine!
