As usual I go shopping for one thing and come home with whole bag full of projects from my favorite fabric and craft store. I was in the wood aisle looking at large letters when I saw these little wooden flower shapes and it hit me. Herb markers! I have been looking for something cute to add to the herb planter on the patio and I found it!
Both sides of the flowers were painted with Annie Sloan Chalk paint in graphite. Then I glued the flowers to the flat sticks with Elmer’s Wood Glue. The wooden sticks were next to the dowels and I though the flat surface would be easier to glue to the flowers. After the glue dried I wrote the herb names with a white paint pen and drew some leaves on each one.
Dottie came outside to get some sun while I put the markers into place.
I will be giving the chives and the parsley a serious haircut when I finish this post. They are looking a little wild!
I think I like the Chives marker the best.
Happy painting!
