Welcome Fall Entryway With Navy And Yellow

My fall entryway with navy and yellow is ready to say welcome home. Navy just happens to be one of my favorite colors and when I add a pop of yellow the whole room lights up. Today I’m joining over 20 bloggers for an Embracing Fall Home Tours Blog Hop, hosted by my friend Amber from Follow The Yellow Brick Home.

It’s so much fun being part of a blog hop to see how everyone interprets the season. All the links are provided at the end of the post. If you’re stoping by from The Tattered Pew, I’m thrilled to have you. Kelly always amazes me with her fresh decorating ideas.

Nothing says welcome home like a pretty wreath or basket, decorating the front door.

The willow basket has a new look filled with dried twigs and branches. It’s one of the easiest ways to decorate a front door that I can imagine, unless you’re buying something ready-made. To view more ideas click on Willow Basket Door Arrangement for Early Fall.

The navy accent wall wraps around to the kitchen providing a rich backdrop for every season. It was a bold decision going with dark walls, but I still love it with no regrets.

If you follow my seasonal posts, then you know how much I love garlands. Hanging from the vintage wall map is a multi colored paper leaf garland held with mini clothes pins. This a super easy DIY garland that only takes a few minutes to make.

Yellow pumpkins are the theme this year. I can’t decide if I like the striped tiger pumpkins or the solid colors best. Either way, they make a pretty vignette grouped together on the entry table.

A group of sunflowers on the other side are just about at their end. I may try to dry these like the ones featured in Simple Fall Home Decor Ideas.

The antique tea box in the center holds dried ears of Indian Corn. This is the first time I have ever displayed anything inside the box. It’s one of those antiques to be admired, but not handled very often, due to its fragile hinges.

I’m really excited about the blue glass table lamp that I found at end of summer. It really gives the table the updated look it needed. Did I mention the glass is blue? Love it!

Can’t have fall decor without a touch of plaid. Storage baskets under the table hold a couple of plaid pillows for a boost of color and pattern.

More ways to add Navy And Yellow

On the other side of the entry I have more navy and yellow accents for fall.  A waffle weave textured throw creates a soft backdrop for mums, that will be blooming any day now. In a week or so, I’ll plant them outside by the front door for a beautiful pop of color.

I found the French inspired metal box last year before Christmas. The trim was originally red, but I painted over it in white so I could use any time of year.

The cup rack is a handy spot for coats and bags, but I also like adding seasonal touches. Right now, I’m keeping it simple with Audubon bird postcards in fall-ish colors and a preserved boxwood wreath.

Do you like to decorate the inside of your front door? I have a permanent metal hook on each side of the door for hanging wreaths or baskets.

I envisioned real autumn leaves but that didn’t happened. No telling when they will start turning with our unusually hot and dry weather. Thank you for your sweet comments!

Michelle your navy and yellow color scheme is so eye catching and classy! I love the gorgeous French planter with mums, your plaid touches, the willow basket, well, your whole entry! The indian corn in the antique tea box is my favorite treasure on your tour today, but there are many things to love!

Thank you so much for embracing fall with us!

Thank you Amber! That little tea box belonged to my mother, so of course it’s one of my most treasured keepsakes. Crazy how I never thought of an arrangement in it before. This is a fabulous blog hop and I have enjoyed seeing everyones interpretation of embracing fall so much. Thanks again for organizing and keeping this fun group in check!

Your home looks lovely all decked out for fall. I so much enjoyed taking in all of your thoughtful decor details as I slowly read and scrolled through your post. My grandmother used a basket on her door and changed the arrangement seasonally. I always loved that look. I also like how you covered a book with ticking fabric. What a great way to add some color and texture to a display.

Thank you Paula for your sweet comments. I’m already thinking about how I’m going to use the door basket for Christmas. So many possibilities!

Michelle, I love your Fall entryway! I love the yellows mixed in with the navy (blue is sure a popular color this season!) I especially love the mums with the blanket backdrop. So happy to be on tour with you!

Thank you Michelle! I love having the mums indoors and now they are really starting to bloom. I almost hate to move them outdoors but I know they will be happier with a little sunlight.

Thank you so much Emily! The map and antique map are two of my favorites in the entryway and so fun to embellish with fall colors.

Thank you Kristin! Navy is becoming my neutral backdrop because it seems to work with everything, even autumn colors.

Thank you so much Kelly! The lamp was one of those deals I couldn’t pass up. I hope you had a great trip to the mountains. Happy Fall!

Michelle, we are on the same page using navy in our fall decor. You have included some wonderful accessories in your containers, baskets, and the little chair. They all work so well together. Love the pop of yellow. It provides the warmth tht fall decor needs.

    • Michelle Meyer says:

You’re so right Carol, those little pops of fall color really warm up the space. Hope you got to see some beautiful fall color on your trip!

I love your navy and gold colors for Fall. I am loving that combination so much right now that I painted my new cabinets in the laundry room makeover VERY NAVY by Behr and added gold handles.

Maps always capture my attention, and I love how you used one in your entry.

I am so far behind on commenting on blogs, and think I will never get caught up… with all of the upcoming holiday posts.

    Happy Fall,

Your laundry room is going to be gorgeous! Every time I see navy cabinets or walls I’m attracted like a moth to a flame. Hope you are enjoying your fall Judith!
