This week we are celebrating the “There’s No Place Like Home” Autumn Blog Hop with crafts. For last weeks blog hop post click on, Fall Decorating Ideas For A Small Porch.
Before we jump into the craft, I want to thank our host Rachelle of My Hubbard Home for including me. The best part of the bog hop is getting to work with all of these creative ladies. If you’re visiting from my friend Carol over at Bluesky At Home welcome. Love her cute Halloween place cards.
Acorns are inspiring me in all kinds of ways this fall. Did you see the wood ones on my Fall Tiered Tray and the acorn watercolor on my Shop page? Yes, I’m completely smitten with acorns and now adding them to napkin rings.
DIY Felt Acorn Napkin Rings
Here’s a list of supplies you’ll need for this project.
- wool felt pompoms
- acorn caps
- felt for leaves
- waxed cotton or jute string
- glue gun and glue sticks
- scissors
- napkin rings – woven cane, wood, plastic, or fabric covered
First step is glueing the acorn caps on the felt pompoms using a glue gun.
Next cut out simple leaf shapes from felt in the colors you like best.
Add a dot of hot glue in the center of each leaf and pinch the sides together.
Once the glue is dry on the leaves, center a 10″ string with a dot of hot glue in between the leaves. Glue the felt acorn in place then tie it on the napkin ring.
I want to be able to use these napkin rings throughout the year, so I’m just tying the felt acorn decoration on each ring.
If you prefer, you can hot glue the felt leaves and acorn directly on a napkin ring.
Shop The Look
Now get creative picking out fun napkin colors that will show off those cute napkin rings. You can also make a bunch of felt acorns to display in a bowl or make a colorful garland.

This is such a sweet craft. The family of squirrels in my backyard leave tons of acorn caps on the lawn this time of year & now I have your tutorial as inspiration to put them to use!
Our squirrels are busy with the last of our pecans, but I’m sure they are giving our neighbors oak tree plenty of attention too. Thanks so much for stopping by!
