Decorating Ideas That Transition Into Fall

Hello friends, I’m back this week to help you get ready for fall. Maybe I should say, get ready to transition into fall since the hot temperatures seem to be never-ending. If you’re like me and not in full pumpkin mode yet, then I have some decorating ideas to get you started.

Make a vase filler with linen wrapped foam balls

First on my list of ideas is an easy vase filler project of linen wrapped foam balls. They add texture and warm color to the coffee table. In the weeks ahead they will take on a new personality when mixed with acorns, pinecones and pumpkins.

You can make these too, with strips of linen fabric, foam balls and a dab of hot glue.

Freshen up your decor by bring the outdoors in

I love bringing in the outdoors as the seasons change. The cup rack, now coat rack in the entry has become one of my favorite spots to decorate. I’ve used it through-out the year for all sorts of things, from coats and scarves, to dog leashes and art work. It adds architectural interest to what would otherwise be an empty space.

The grapevine gives the coat rack a whimsical spur-of-the-moment feel that’s simple and care-free.

Decorate with rain boots or cowboy boots

When I see cowboy boots, I think of corn mazes, pumpkin patches and hay rides. Yippee!

Decorate with flowers

I’m always looking for excuses to decorate with flowers. I’m sure the husband won’t mind that I’m using his boots as a substitute vase. I wish I had a pair of boots that would compete with his collection. I’ve been dropping hints.  😉

Nothing says fall like cowboy boots and flowers

Update a chalkboard

Chalkboards are always fun to use in your seasonal decor and easy to change as often as you like. I added a paper mache pinecone garland to spruce up my “Hello Fall” greeting.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Leave me a comment and let me know what you look forward to the most as fall approaches.

Cheers!
